All orders subject to acceptance by Caroline Ballou, LLC and approval of the representative in the territory. To ensure rapid handling and delivery, please be sure to use the catalog number, and specify date needed and preferred method of shipment.

 

Special Orders
There will be an additional charge for any modification of a standard item or special items as they must be handled on an individual basis. Special order items are nonreturnable for credit.

 

Standard Policies

OPENING ORDERS
The CAROLINE BALLOU line is merchandised and sold as a designer brand of jewelry. The line is made up of several travel-inspired collections, each of which has offerings across multiple categories, e.g., necklaces, bracelets, etc. Rather than requiring a minimum dollar opening order, CAROLINE BALLOU has created the following guidelines for opening an account:

1. The initial purchase must contain 15-20 different pieces of jewelry across 2-4 collections. The jewelry can be either sterling silver or 18K gold.

2. Within each collection, the customer must buy at least three pieces which were designed to be worn together.

3. The customer should merchandise the collections together as a designer line.

PRICING
1. Prices, quotations, and specifications are subject to change without notice.

2. Purchase orders are priced the day they are received.

TERMS
1. Terms are Net 10 EOM payable to CAROLINE BALLOU, LLC.

2. Only JBT-rated jewelers will qualify for terms. For all other customers, we accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Money Order, or Wire Transfer.

3. All new customers must fill out a customer information form, including JBT-rated jewelers.

PURCHASE ORDERS
1. All jewelry is shipped in packaging ready for the consumer.

2. All backordered jewelry is shipped as soon as it becomes available, unless a complete shipment is requested. If applicable, a cancellation date must be indicated on each purchase order. The customer should allow at least 6 weeks for backordered jewelry.

3. Rings are offered in whole sizes 5, 6, 7, and 8. Typically, only sizes 6 and 7 are stocked. Rings may be custom-ordered in half sizes; please allow at least 6 weeks for delivery.

SHIPMENTS
1. All CAROLINE BALLOU jewelry is shipped as it is available at the customer’s expense via UPS Ground and insured at the value of the jewelry shipped. The customer may request expedited shipments at its expense. Insurance coverage will NOT be waived without proof of self-insurance.

2. All jewelry is shipped F.O.B. Attleborough Falls. An additional charge will be applied to drop shipments.

3. Invoices are included with each shipment except for drop shipments, in which case the invoice is mailed separately to the customer.

4. Special shipping instructions must be indicated on the purchase order.

5. The jewelry should be inspected upon receipt and claims must be made within 5 days.

6. Refused shipments or returns are subject to restocking fees, insurance fees, and shipping and handling charges.

7. CAROLINE BALLOU will not ship jewelry to customers who are past due.

EXCHANGE PRIVILEGES
CAROLINE BALLOU will allow exchanges for jewelry on a 2-for-1dollar basis under the following conditions:

1. The customer must submit a list of jewelry to be returned before shipping it to CAROLINE BALLOU.

2. The 2-for-1 dollar exchange will be based on the price at which the customer purchased the jewelry.

3. A 2-for-1 replacement order must accompany the return. The exchange will credit against the replacement order.

4. No exchanges will be allowed on custom orders or discontinued jewelry.

5. No exchanges will be allowed on purchases made more than 15 months prior.

6. No exchanges will be allowed on jewelry damaged while in the customer’s possession.

7. The customer’s account must be current to be eligible for exchange privileges.

REPAIRS
1. We only repair jewelry made by CAROLINE BALLOU. All of our jewelry is trademarked.

2. When repair is necessary due to faulty materials or workmanship, there will be no repair charge. In all other cases such as normal wear and tear, customer abuse, etc., a charge will be assessed. An estimate may be requested before the repair work begins.

3. The normal turn-around time for repairs is approximately one month. A longer period of time may be necessary during busy times of the year, e.g., annual vacation and the Christmas season.

CATALOGS
The CAROLINE BALLOU catalog is available only to current, active customers.

1. Current, active customers are defined as those with total sales from the prior two calendar years in excess of $2,000.

2. Only one catalog binder will be shipped per customer. Catalog insert pages will be replaced as CAROLINE BALLOU updates them.

3. Customers who are not eligible to receive CAROLINE BALLOU catalogs may visit www.carolineballou.com to view the jewelry online.

4. Price sheets are only available to current, active customers.

DISPLAYS
CAROLINE BALLOU in-counter display materials are sold as kits for $350 or given to customers free of charge upon an opening order of $10,000.

EXCLUSIVITY
Due to the complexity of managing geographic exclusivity arrangements, CAROLINE BALLOU will review each situation on a case-by-case basis.
